Dr. David Brailer
"Technology in Healthcare: The Wave of the Future"

David Brailer

Dr. David Brailer is changing the face of American healthcare delivery as a technology innovator, consumer advocate, policy leader and entrepreneurial promoter of virtual medicine. In his keynote address, Dr. Brailer will take CONNECTIONS2007 attendees on a journey through the potential of medicine in the 21st Century. How can providers, employers and consumers contain costs, while maintaining access and quality? What needs to be done now to shore up accountability and efficacy of care? What are the most current trends in automating, systematizing and improving healthcare with electronic medical records?

Dr. Brailer will also outline the urgency and challenges of both safeguarding patient privacy and protecting health records from loss, through natural or man-made disasters.

In the broader spectrum, Dr. Brailer will engage conference attendees with his unique knowledge of valuable public health breakthroughs that will help protect consumers from medical errors, pandemic flu, bioterrorism, adverse drug effects and others.

Dr. Brailer is best known to CONNECTIONS2007 attendees as the first-ever National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, appointed by President George W. Bush. In that key role, he helped set the U.S. healthcare industry on a course toward modernized standards and new policies. Previously, he served as Chairman and CEO of CareScience, Inc., drawing on his background as a physician to help organizations remain competitive, while keeping costs and premiums affordable.
