Hoyt

Rick Hoyt uses a wheelchair. But that hasn’t stopped him from living a full and amazing life. He and his father Dick, together known as “Team Hoyt,” have competed in nearly 1,000 athletic events in the past 28 years, including 26 Boston Marathons and 6 Ironman Triathlons.

As the CONNECTIONS2009 opening keynote speaker, Dick Hoyt will share the inspirational, uplifting story of this amazing father-son bond that has taken them around the world competing in events and speaking out on behalf of people with disabilities. In this journey, they have inspired with the Team Hoyt motto, “Yes You Can” and raised millions of dollars for special needs causes via their foundation.

You may have seen the Team Hoyt story on the Today Show or on HBO’s “Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel,” where their segment recently won a Sports Emmy Award for Best Long Feature.
